[00:00:33] this The Inspired Stewardship Podcast with my friend Scott Maded.

[00:00:41] Dang man, why did I create, He ain't doing

[00:00:44] nothing with his life. It is not that God would say, that's why I'm careful with my words because some people would say, Oh, that's bla me. No, God would never think I get it. I get it. God might not never think like that, but in my mind I just play with those thoughts.

And I also ask him about the legacy that he hopes to leave behind. One reason I like to bring you great interviews like the one you're gonna hear today is because of the power in learning from others.

Travel Lynch is a self worth specialist podcast host Arthur and founder of I Am.

[00:02:32] The Possible Travel comes from a challenging past, including much trauma that led to homelessness, crime, and eventually incarceration. Today Travel is a father of four and husband of one. He's become an ordained pastor, a men's mentor, self worth specialist, corporate trainer, Arthur speaker and podcast host.

[00:02:52] His journey in life exemplify that idea of self transformation and his company's philosophy. I and my [00:03:00] possibilities are one and the. Everything. I hope to be tomorrow. I already am today. Welcome to the show, Tve.

[00:03:06] Treveal Lynch: Hey, thanks so much Scott. I really appreciate this opportunity and really excited about being on the show today.

[00:03:11] Thank you so much for having me.

[00:03:13] Scott Maderer: So last week I asked about the word leadership. There's another word and know, my brand has inspired stewardship. I run things through that lens of stewardship, and yet again, that's another one of those words I discovered over the years. A lot of people use it.

[00:03:28] Means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. So what does the word stewardship mean to you and what does the impact of that word have on you?

[00:03:36] Treveal Lynch: Yeah, when I first think about it cause I haven't given a lot of thought about the word stewardship, but what comes to mind for me is the caring of something on behalf of another for any for any period of time.

[00:03:52] So whether someone entrust you with something and say, Hey man, look after this for the next two years, I'll come back and get it later. Or [00:04:00] whether it's I'm ready to pass away and I'm gonna pass on these family heirlooms or something to you, and I want you to keep this going through the generations.

[00:04:11] So it's the handling of something or someone on behalf of another how it's impacted my life is truly understanding that my life is not my

[00:04:22] Scott Maderer: own. It is, but it isn't the fact

[00:04:25] Treveal Lynch: that God, Because my faith tells me that I was created

[00:04:29] Scott Maderer: by a creator.

[00:04:31] Treveal Lynch: With a purpose attached, embedded within my life that it's a good thing for me

[00:04:40] Scott Maderer: to steward my life or to handle my life in a way that gives my

[00:04:46] Treveal Lynch: creator.

[00:04:48] The best return on his investment, the best, the maximum glory, the maximum pleasure, the

[00:04:56] Scott Maderer: maximum

[00:04:57] Treveal Lynch: joy that he created me. [00:05:00] And depending on who

[00:05:01] Scott Maderer: you

[00:05:01] Treveal Lynch: are and how you think about it and this, not to say that's the right way or the wrong way, but it's almost man, I don't want him to.

[00:05:11] Making me I

[00:05:13] Scott Maderer: I don't,

[00:05:14] Treveal Lynch: I don't want him to like, Dang man, why did I create trave? He ain't doing nothing with his life.

[00:05:19] Scott Maderer: It not that God would say, that's why I'm careful with my words, right? Because some people would say, Oh, that's bla me. No, God would never think I get it. I get it.

[00:05:27] God might not never think like that, but in my mind I just play with those thoughts like,

[00:05:32] Treveal Lynch: Yeah. I've got four kids and I would really hate for them to say, Hey, thanks dad, thanks mom for bringing me into this world. But I've decided to do nothing with my life.

[00:05:46] I'm just gonna hang out and just wait to die. That would suck. That would that,

[00:05:53] Scott Maderer: that wouldn't be,

[00:05:54] Treveal Lynch: that wouldn't be good. . So I just play with. Idea. As [00:06:00] I relate to God and I say, Man, he created me, man. Thank you for life. God.

[00:06:05] Scott Maderer: How can I give back to you?

[00:06:07] How can I

[00:06:08] Treveal Lynch: live my life in such a way? That's going to maximize your joy in creating me. So that's really how I view stewardship and that's how it's led to the improvements that I've made in my own life. Because as I've shared with my story as I've shared my story on other past episodes I came from not caring about.

[00:06:32] About my life. I came from not caring about myself. In my mind I was a throwaway, and who would care if I die today? Today? Understanding that I

[00:06:45] Scott Maderer: was created and looking to steward

[00:06:48] Treveal Lynch: by life. It's the complete opposite. It's no man, how can I live the best life that I can possibly live because I am wanted, I am desired.

[00:06:57] And [00:07:00] my life isn't just my own what I do with my life influences and it impacts other people. So that inspires me to be the very best that I can. So if somebody has been listening to us the last few weeks and they've gotten inspired and they're I really wanna make an impact.

[00:07:19] Scott Maderer: I really wanna make a difference. I want to, I wanna do something again. What are some of the mindsets, the principles, the tips, the thought process that you would suggest that they adopt, they go through, they think about, Yes. Great

[00:07:34] Treveal Lynch: question. So I would offer. Idea and contribution. Idea and contribution.

[00:07:41] Consider the fact, and I always like to play. When I teach my self, when I teach my self discovery courses I always have someone grab an object. I say, Look around

[00:07:53] Scott Maderer: in the room, grab anything,

[00:07:56] Treveal Lynch: put it in your hand. I don't care. I have a [00:08:00] 100% success rate, so I don't care what you grab anything.

[00:08:03] So I let him grab something and so I say now, Where'd that come from? I don't know. I it came from so and so created it. Okay, great. So that means

[00:08:15] Scott Maderer: that the only reason that thing exists is because,

[00:08:20] Treveal Lynch: Someone at some point in time

[00:08:22] Scott Maderer: thought of it, it began as an idea, Oh, it exists today because it once existed as an idea.

[00:08:31] Now I ask them, So what is it that thing does? What is it provide

[00:08:34] Treveal Lynch: you? Oh this this helps me to do X, Y, and

[00:08:40] Scott Maderer: Z. Okay? So that means that thing that was once an idea that now exists, provides a service.

[00:08:49] Treveal Lynch: Or serves you in a very specific way.

[00:08:52] Scott Maderer: It makes your life better.

[00:08:54] It improves your life. It allows you to do some things that before it existed, you were not able to do those things, [00:09:00] right? Yeah. Okay, great. You're no different.

[00:09:03] Treveal Lynch: You're an

[00:09:04] Scott Maderer: idea.

[00:09:05] Treveal Lynch: You are

[00:09:06] Scott Maderer: an idea. You began in the mind and the imagination of your creator. You started off as an idea. He thought of you planned for you, strategized for.

[00:09:16] Created

[00:09:17] Treveal Lynch: you in his likeness and his image for a purpose to serve and to be a contribution, which gives me to part two, a contribution

[00:09:24] Scott Maderer: to the betterment of our society. And so I

[00:09:28] Treveal Lynch: like to take people through that experience and that consideration.

[00:09:34] Scott Maderer: You are an idea. Anything that exists started off as one of two things.

[00:09:40] A solution to a problem, an answer to a. That's it. Every, everything you can name Scott. There is nothing that we can name on the planet of the

[00:09:49] Treveal Lynch: earth that is

[00:09:50] Scott Maderer: not either a solution to a problem or an answer to a question. At some point in time, there was a need, a void, and someone had a [00:10:00] spark of inspiration.

[00:10:01] An idea, huh? I want to travel faster from this state to that state. Right now all I got is my two feet. This is, this ain't. How can I get there faster? Let's create the first whatever, car, airplane,

[00:10:17] Treveal Lynch: whatever. So I just like to say you're an idea and consider the fact that you are an idea and draw inspiration from the fact

[00:10:24] Scott Maderer: that if you are, if you exist, it means

[00:10:27] Treveal Lynch: that you were thought of and that you were sent into this world for a reason, and then that you are a contribution.

[00:10:34] You're not here to just

[00:10:35] Scott Maderer: hang. Your life contains things that people absolutely need. That is not a want, it's a, you're you. You are vital.

[00:10:50] Treveal Lynch: You're absolutely critical

[00:10:52] Scott Maderer: to something or to

[00:10:53] Treveal Lynch: someone you're that important. And I know we don't necessarily like to go that deep because we like to [00:11:00] if I'm that important it can go one of two ways.

[00:11:02] I can either put too much pressure on myself and get depressed cuz I'm not living up to that. Or I could become very conceded and bigheaded and think the whole world revolves around me. So I always like to say,

[00:11:12] kind

[00:11:12] Scott Maderer: of keep a nice, healthy balance. I am. I'm, the world

[00:11:17] Treveal Lynch: doesn't revolve around me, but I'm absolutely critical to this overall thing called life.

[00:11:22] Just enough

[00:11:23] Scott Maderer: balance to be able to be effective

[00:11:26] Treveal Lynch: and to be involved and to be engaged in our society. So you are an idea and you are a contribution.

[00:11:34] Scott Maderer: One thing that can help with that is remember you. You are vital, you are important. And so is everyone else . Absolutely. Cuz I think that's the part that sometimes gets us a big head is it's not, I am important, it's, I'm more important.

[00:11:53] It's that adding that more word than suddenly creates a problem. Yes. Yes. I am [00:12:00] more worthy. I am. By the same token, the opposite is I am less the, I'm less worthy. I am less is also a problem. It's when you start adding adjectives that we have from Oh, yes.

[00:12:12] Treveal Lynch: That's a good point.

[00:12:12] That's right. I love it. That's,

[00:12:14] Scott Maderer: I love, You're set. Go back to your statement. I am possible I am. Possibility. It's not I am good or I am bad, or I am you're not adding a descriptor to the possibility. It's just no. Within you is those possibilities. I love that . That's right. So here's my favorite question, though.

[00:12:34] I've been told by some guests that it's not their favorite, so we'll see how you like it. So right. If I invented this magic machine and I could pluck you from the chair where you are today and transport you magically into the future, 150, 200 years, and through the power of this machine, you were able to look back on your entire life, your entire journey, and you were able to see all of the impacts, all of the connections, all of the [00:13:00] relationships, everything that you had left behind.

[00:13:03] What impact do you hope you've left on the world?

[00:13:05] Treveal Lynch: I've thought about this question a lot actually. So I, I actually liked the question. I framed it differently, but at the core, it's the same, it's the same question. I think the best way I can articulate it, In this moment is that I

[00:13:22] Scott Maderer: wanna be a

[00:13:23] Treveal Lynch: part of responsible for a

[00:13:27] Scott Maderer: contributor

[00:13:27] Treveal Lynch: to the population.

[00:13:29] A a, a increased population of individuals that appreciate and accept themselves. Apart from their accomplishments. The reason I say that is I used to try to define it so specifically, I want to reach 1

[00:13:48] Scott Maderer: million people for God, or I wanna touch a hundred thousand. You

[00:13:53] Treveal Lynch: get into that stuff sometimes.

[00:13:54] What's more authentic for me is I just want to [00:14:00] be, I

[00:14:01] Scott Maderer: wanna maximize. My potential and maximize the possibilities.

[00:14:06] Treveal Lynch: So it's, I want to be known for re remembered as having contributed to an increased population of individuals that appreciate and accept themselves apart from their accomplishments.

[00:14:23] Yeah.

[00:14:25] Scott Maderer: So what's coming next? What's on the roadmap as you continue on this journey to, to I Am The Possible and all of the other things that you're working on.

[00:14:35] Treveal Lynch: Yeah. So the two big things is the transition to full time coaching. Like I said in some earlier episodes, I've been in corporate America.

[00:14:44] For 16 years now. And it is my heart's desire to transition into full time coaching and speaking to really have the impact that I envision having. And then along with that to be able to really dedicate. My time and my [00:15:00] efforts in establishing the I am the possible university. I really have a heart for, and I've really seen a void and a need for self education.

[00:15:15] I've had a huge chip on my shoulder for years. When I look at our educational system and I say, We

[00:15:23] Scott Maderer: are required

[00:15:25] Treveal Lynch: to accomplish because I have four kids, It's I've seen this go through four times, right? four three graduated and one on the way here next year to graduate.

[00:15:36] And I've even asked them, I said, Hey guys,

[00:15:39] Scott Maderer: is there any required class?

[00:15:41] Treveal Lynch: Let's open up

[00:15:42] Scott Maderer: the be as broad as you can guys, any class. Or self discovery? Any class on you learning about,

[00:15:50] Treveal Lynch: you said, Nope, not a one. You mean from elementary

[00:15:54] Scott Maderer: through high school? You haven't learned anything about, you

[00:15:58] Treveal Lynch: said No.[00:16:00]

[00:16:00] What So what? So what have you learned? We learned about them. Whoever they are. We learned the history of America or the history of this, or the history of that, or the mathematics or this or that. It's really triggered something within me, Scott, that it's like, Man, we are required to learn about everything

[00:16:17] Scott Maderer: and everyone except ourselves.

[00:16:20] Accept this. Accept this truth. Accept this history. Accept this country. Accept how this is. Accept what that is. Accept two plus two equals four. Accept all these different things. Accept these sciences. Accept all this new stuff that we're starting to introduce into the textbooks. Accept all of these things.

[00:16:39] Learn them, accept them. Pass the class, pass the test. Graduate with your diploma. Go on to college and

[00:16:46] Treveal Lynch: learn more about others and about everything. Accept you and I

[00:16:51] Scott Maderer: have a huge

[00:16:53] Treveal Lynch: problem with that, and I just wanna be a part of the solution, because we have a lot of people

[00:16:59] Scott Maderer: who know a [00:17:00] lot about

[00:17:00] Treveal Lynch: others and a lot about everything else.

[00:17:02] But when you ask them, when you

[00:17:03] Scott Maderer: look 'em in the eye and you say, Who are you? They're clueless. Who are you? What are you? Why are you. Give me five things that are amazing about you. Give me five things that

[00:17:16] Treveal Lynch: are positive

[00:17:17] Scott Maderer: Attributes about you. Give me five things that you do well, Give me five things that you believe that God's going to use you to do in this world.

[00:17:24] Give me five things that you, They don't have em, Scott. They don't have them.

[00:17:28] Treveal Lynch: At least not the people that I run across. . So that's where really my heart is to build this university where people can go and they can, as I say in the I am the possible University . You

[00:17:40] Scott Maderer: are the student, the subject

[00:17:43] Treveal Lynch: and the success.

[00:17:44] You're all three of them. You're all three of them. And so that, that's what we have coming down the.

[00:17:51] Scott Maderer: You can follow Trave Lynch on Facebook or Instagram as I am the possible, or find him on his website at i am the possible.com. [00:18:00] Of course, he's also active over on YouTube as Trave Lynch. I am the possible, I'll have links to all of this over in the show notes as well, trave.

[00:18:08] Is there anything else you'd like to share with the listener?

[00:18:11] Treveal Lynch: Yeah, I just want to, as I'm always given an opportunity to, or whenever I'm given an opportunity to is that I just want to encourage you, no matter where you are, no matter what you've accomplished, no matter what you've not accomplished that I really want you to really consider the fact that your existence is the evidence that you matter.

[00:18:33] The only reason that you're. Is because you matter. Your existence is the evidence that you need to prove and to show

[00:18:44] Scott Maderer: yourself where it matters

[00:18:46] Treveal Lynch: most, that you matter. And be encouraged to take that journey of self discovery that journey of the inward journey. And to really seek out [00:19:00] to really search.

[00:19:01] And to really secure an identity for yourself that comes from within and not come from, or doesn't come from those things that are without on the outside of you. So that would be my number one encouragement.
