[00:00:41] So one of the things I talk about in the book is intimacy and identity is the foundation of prayer, and if I'm only approaching God for what it is that I want and what it is that I need, then life is still about me and I've forgotten the first step. If any man, follow me. Let him first. Jesus says, if any man, follow me.[00:01:00]

[00:01:00] Let him first deny himself. Take up his calls daily and follow me.

[00:03:13] Ron Davis: Thank you. It's an honor to be here.

[00:03:16] Scott Maderer: Absolutely. So I shared a little bit in the intro with some of the work you've done and some of the mission work and ministry work that you've been doing over the years.

[00:03:26] And of course you've got a new book coming out that we're going to talk a little bit as well as the other work you do. But I found that intros and those sort of things never really tell the whole story of how we got where we're at. So back up a little bit and share with. The listener a little bit more about your journey and what brought you to the point where this is the message you're putting out into the world.

[00:03:50] Ron Davis: Absolutely. I'll start with my conversion. Let's start there. I. I gave my life to Christ right before my 16th birthday. I grew up in, in a low [00:04:00] income area. My house is what they would probably have considered the crack house at the time. A lot of drug activity, a lot of drug activity in my neighborhood, a lot of drug activity.

[00:04:08] Out of the apartment that I lived in my mom kept me in church, but at home I was exposed to a different world. What I wanted to be when I was a young teenager was a drug dealer. But the Lord had another plan for my life and I went to a revival, and that revival changed my life. I heard the message and I grew up in church, so I knew of Jesus, but I heard the message of Jesus preached when, what conviction in the man of God that were, that was used at the time.

[00:04:35] He drew me in and that was just my moment of salvation. And I gave my life to Christ. And at a very young age, I found myself studying the word, going deep in God's presence. And just, I developed a love for God and, began to serve in ministry young. I've done Sunday school. I was a Sunday school teacher at 18 to an adult class.

[00:04:53] I was deep in theology at a very young age. And that's what kind of started my journey of teaching the body of [00:05:00] Christ. From there, life happens as it would with anyone else. The ups and downs of life, failed marriage and what ended up happening? I'm just trying, I'm trying to give you the short version of the story

[00:05:11] Scott Maderer: so

[00:05:12] Ron Davis: What ended up happening after I went through a few things and I went through a failed marriage, I realized that even though I had a strong biblical foundation, even though I had a strong ministry foundation, I was still making decisions that may not have been led by the spirit of God. And as a result of that, I suffered because of it.

[00:05:34] So that brought me to a place where I wanted to know God on a deeper level. I wanted the word, I wanted my theology to become my reality. I wanted the words that I teach to become the words that I live and experience. So I began to really go deep in the place of prayer and spend much more time in prayer and fellowship with the Holy Spirit and this diving into fasting and praying, [00:06:00] and I realize that now.

[00:06:02] I begin to live my life in line with the leadership of the spirit instead of doing things and then hoping God will bless it, doing things and trying to find the scripture to justify what I'm doing, but without receiving the leadership and the unction in the Holy Spirit. So though I was rich in the word, I wasn't rich in prayer and.

[00:06:28] As a result of giving myself more deeply to prayer, God put me on this journey of now igniting a prayer movement igniting revival and establishing a prayer movement in the earth. So we're doing these prayer revivals. We are writing books, and we have a prayer group that we lead. So that's gives you a short version of how I got to where I am.

[00:06:50] Scott Maderer: Let me back up a little bit. Something you said there about doing things and then justifying it with scripture or doing something then asking God to bless it. [00:07:00] When I think a lot of folks and again, these are folks that are raised to the church. They go to, they may go to church every Sunday.

[00:07:07] They're, they'll identify themselves as Christian or people of faith and these sorts of things. I think a lot of times we have. A surface level, for lack of a better word, of the theology. And it is real tempting to do that. I'm gonna go do what I wanna do and then I'm gonna ask God to bless it, or I'm gonna justify what I wanna do and I'm gonna cherry pick and find things to.

[00:07:30] Justify what I wanna do. And you've talked about prayer as kind of part of that, but I think a lot of those folks will tell you they've got a good prayer life. They pray and they do that every day. What do you think is the difference in the mindset or the understanding that begins to lead from.

[00:07:48] Again, that kind of prayer that maybe reinforces, oh, yep, I've got it all figured out. Versus the kind of prayer I think you're talking about, which begins to challenge our faith and our feeling and, [00:08:00] rewire us to look at it a different way. What do you think is the difference?

[00:08:03] Ron Davis: I would say this is what I've discovered.

[00:08:06] Most of what we call prayer is us saying something. But what prayer really is time spent with God. And I think a lot of times what we call a prayer life is just time spent saying a prayer and we don't really take time out with God. And we begin to really fellowship and present our hearts before.

[00:08:29] And another thing is prayer for many is a place where we go to receive. It's not a place where we go for communion. And I believe when the Lord taught us to pray after this matter, pray our Father with char in heaven, before we ask for anything, he introduced us to this concept of knowing God as Father.

[00:08:49] So one of the things I talk about in the book is intimacy and identity is the foundation of prayer. And if I'm only approaching God for what it is that I [00:09:00] want and what it is that I need, then life is still about me. And I've forgotten the first step. If any, man, follow me. Let him first. Jesus says, if any man, follow me.

[00:09:08] Let him first deny himself. Take up his cross daily and follow me. And most of what we call prayer is still has us at the center, at the center stage. It's still, we're still, it's me, myself and I that I'm concerned with. Not so much this kingdom coming or his will being done or discovering what it is his what, his plan and purpose is for my life, so I believe the shift in me occurred.

[00:09:31] When I stopped focusing on what I wanted from prayer and God start focusing on God himself. I started focusing on wanting to discover what it is that God wanted for me. I was tired of living a life that wasn't aligning with the theology that I taught, preach.

[00:09:51] Scott Maderer: So one of the things I like to highlight on the show is how our faith journey and our life journeys intersect and feedback between each other.

[00:09:59] And [00:10:00] you shared a little of that when you were talking earlier, but expand a little bit on how do you think your faith journey has informed your life and your life has informed your faith?

[00:10:12] Ron Davis: I've been at it for so long that it's been intertwined. I've been, I gotta see at such a young age.

[00:10:17] So my faith journey has definitely impacted my life. Even though I may not have lived a life that I wanted to live, it made some of the decisions that I think would've been better for me on my faith journey. I still was making decisions that were far better. If I wasn't on this journey, because of those theological convictions and my foundation and my belief system, there's certain things I just wouldn't do.

[00:10:40] So faith has definitely impacted my life in a great way. And most of what I even do now I I do unto the Lord. So I think for too long what we've done, if we separated the secular from the sacred, right? What I believe that God places here to influence the secular with the sacred.

[00:10:57] So whatsoever your hands find to do it unto the [00:11:00] Lord. So now in my life, my faith life and my personal life is becoming one of the same. And I tell people all the time what we have made, our relationship with God, what we've done with religion, what we've done with Christianity is we made it about moments.

[00:11:19] We made it about a day of the week. We made it about a moment in time. Not a lifestyle, not what we do every single day. And Jesus died and redeemed us that we might live spiritual lives, not have spiritual moments, so faith now has impacted my life to the point that there's no separation between what I do in life and what I do for God.

[00:11:43] If that makes sense.

[00:11:44] Scott Maderer: Absolutely. Absolutely. So going back to prayer for a moment when. I'm big on, on what I call digging into the why, which is the, not just the mechanics of what we do, but what's the actual driving reasons behind what we [00:12:00] do. And I found when we understand why, it makes things more sticky.

[00:12:04] It makes us more able to follow through and do it when it. When it's not easy and those sorts of things. So when you think about prayer what is some of the whys behind prayer rather than just the mechanical, the whats of it, the how do you do it and when do you do it kind of thing.

[00:12:22] Ron Davis: Answering that question. I would say this is pretty much a big part of the book or what the book is about. It's rediscovering the why of prayer in the why of prayer, I believe is what strengthens. Us to receive the desires that we have in prayer. So if I was, if we go back to that Lord, the Lord's Prayer, what we call the Lord's Prayer, our Father, which are in Heaven Hall, be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

[00:12:48] Now, before we ask for anything, the Bible says we are to pray for his kingdom to come and for his will to be done on earth. As it is in [00:13:00] heaven. Now, when I make prayer only about what I want and not what he wills, then I'm operating outside of the why of prayer. And the why of prayer is associated with God's overall kingdom agenda, which is to establish his reign in the earth and to establish his will in the earth.

[00:13:23] And with that being said, when I understand the why of prayer, I'll realize that there's never a time on this side of the return of Jesus to not be praying. Because if I think prayers about revival, when revival comes, I'll stop praying. I. If I think prayer is about financial breakthrough, when financial breakthrough comes, I stop praying.

[00:13:43] If I think prayer is only about preparation for ministry, the moment I feel prepared for ministry, I stop praying. But when I see prayer as a means to establish God's rule in the earth, I. To establish God's will in the Earth. Then I'll realize as long as there's a kingdom of [00:14:00] darkness here, there's always gonna be a need for God's kingdom to come and God's will to be done in the circumstances of life.

[00:14:08] So the why of prayer is very important because it will keep you going when it doesn't seem as if your request is being granted because your request may be focusing on you at the time. You may still be focused on what it is that you desire, but in the place of prayer, when you begin to focus on kingdom first, seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness when that becomes the basis of your prayer life.

[00:14:36] Now you're operating in the why of prayer. And here's the thing about the why of prayer. The why of prayer will produ will produce in the earth most of what is most of what people are asking for in prayer. That's why Jesus says, seek he first, the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things that you are worried about will be added to your life.

[00:14:57] So the point I preach and teach [00:15:00] king kingdom theology. I really preach kingdom. And the goal of the kingdom is for God's will to be done on earth. As it is in heaven. So the same goal of the kingdom is the same why of prayer. The why of prayer is for God's will. So I, so one, one of the statements I made in the book is it's in a place of prayer that we are to discover his will, that we are to do his will, and that we are to release his will.

[00:15:30] In our lives.

[00:15:31] Scott Maderer: Yeah. So one of the other things that you said a few minutes ago is, about how we often approach prayer and really we're at the center of that prayer and it's about our life. And I've seen, I've had these moments of myself too, where it's.

[00:15:45] Treating prayer, almost transactional. I'll do this for you if you do that for me. Moments of prayer. Another thing that I've seen show up in, in prayer life at various times is and I'm struggling with how to put [00:16:00] this, but it's. A concern about others, but not necessarily in a caring way.

[00:16:06] It's almost the prayer that I call Christian gossip, which is we're using the prayer to bless the ability to talk about what somebody else is doing wrong, even though, whatever I. That, that kind of feeling when folks are dealing with prayer and how we approach it, how does backing up and understanding what you're talking about, which is that act of getting the kingdom of God, being in place here on earth as it is in heaven, how does that help us not.

[00:16:30] Not begin to use and treat prayer as those transactional or moments of, really being worried about other people, but not necessarily in the most kind of ways sometimes.

[00:16:42] Ron Davis: Yeah. Yeah. I truly believe that when you shift to thy kingdom come, that will be done. You shift the kingdom first, you start losing sight of yourself, and most of that is coming.

[00:16:54] From some sort of self gratification that we get from gossip or being overly concerned about [00:17:00] some of it, not enough to really pray to bring a change. But like you're saying, we're just, we're going to prayer, on the lines of almost a lot of times it's

[00:17:07] Scott Maderer: a look at me, I'm doing better than that person is really what you're saying.

[00:17:12] Ron Davis: It's almost like this self righteous thing that we have, and we gotta let that all go. We have to let that all go. And when we begin to focus on God and we begin to focus on his kingdom, I believe it's in that, that we lose sight of ourselves and it purifies our motives. So the Bible says, asking and shall be given, seeking.

[00:17:29] You shall find and knocking. It shall be open. So we're not opposing for or to asking. We're not telling people you shouldn't answer anything. But what happens when you understand the why of prayer and the why of prayer? Becomes your driving force of prayer. Now you actually position yourself to be a vessel that can ask and receive, seek, and find and knock, and it shall be open.

[00:17:52] Because the Bible says we have not because we ask not, and we ask and receive, not because we ask and miss that, that [00:18:00] we might obtain it 'cause of our own lust, our own desire is self-serving. So when we shift away from. Ourselves and we shift to focusing in on kingdom first, God begins to purify our motives.

[00:18:16] And I, and one thing I say about prayer, I define prayer, is ongoing communication and fellowship with God the Father I. For the purpose of becoming a suitable vessel through whom his kingdom comes and is, will, is done on earth as it is in heaven. You know the key is ongoing fellowship that you might become a suitable vessel.

[00:18:39] So what happens in a place of prayer? You notice Jesus pray ain't always got a response. Oh, he is the son of God. It wasn't just that he was the son of God, he lived as a man. If he did not live as a man, he couldn't redeem us. So he lived as a man and as a man. He lived in complete dependence upon the Father and the Holy Spirit, and that relationship with the [00:19:00] Father positioned him to be a man here on Earth that the father always responded to.

[00:19:07] I truly believe that when we get back to Kingdom first and we get back to prioritizing our time with God he conditions and reconditions us to be a vessel that he is eager to respond to. Because if he responds to everything we ask for, and the kingdom of God is not the center of focus.

[00:19:28] Then if he gave it to us, it may be the very thing that causes us to stray away.

[00:19:34] Scott Maderer: And again, like you said, a lot of times too, it's the moment of, if what we're praying for is financial success, now when we get what, whatever we, whatever it is, we define that as well.

[00:19:44] Now we don't need to pray anymore, and yet God wants that relationship to be ongoing. He doesn't want you to just pray when times are good and he doesn't want you to just pray when times are bad. He wants you to just pray, and be in relationship with him at, at all [00:20:00] times.

[00:20:00] Ron Davis: Yeah. And I believe that's the biggest thing of it all. Kingdom Kamai will be done. Even that is to serve. At some point the deal will be a new heaven in new Earth, the new city of Jerusalem. But guess what would never change? Ongoing fellowship. And relationship with God the father.

[00:20:19] So that's why when I, we teach prayer, we teach the foundation of prayers, intimacy, and identity. The purpose of prayer is for his kingdom to come and his will to be done on earth as it is in, as it is in heaven. So the purpose of my communion and fellowship and intimacy with God is that I may be transformed into the same image from glory to glory, and when I begin to function as the new version of myself, the new creation that I am in Christ Jesus, when that begins to now.

[00:20:46] Find the expression in how I make decisions. Find the expression in how I live. Every day I begin to now bring the reality of his reign and the reality of his rule here on earth. God begins to work in me. He begins to work in me. That which [00:21:00] is the Bible says that he's is God that work within us, both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

[00:21:05] So now God is working His will into the world because I passion myself in him to allow him to bring me to a place of maturity that what he intended for me. Becomes the life that I now live and experience. And I think that's the biggest disconnect in many people's lives is we don't stay in fellowship with God long enough to experience true change in transformation.

[00:21:31] And we may become good Christians, but are we living out the reality of why God placed us here? Are we being as effective and as influential? Are we being good steward over? The planning and purposes of God, of our life are we satisfied? 'cause we got one book out when God has giving you 10.

[00:21:49] You know what I'm saying? So it's it's just like the more closer we walk with God, the more likely we are to release the full weight of the anointing on our lives and the full [00:22:00] weight of why he, the full weight of our influence that is placed upon our lives, and I believe it all starts with prayer.

[00:22:06] The ongoing communication and fellowship with God.

[00:22:10] Scott Maderer: So somebody's hearing this right now and maybe they're not real comfortable with the idea of prayer. Maybe it's something, even if they were raised in the church, they, prayer is still something that maybe hasn't been a big part of their life.

[00:22:23] What would you share with folks that are in that place where they struggle with prayer or maybe they aren't real familiar with it? That would help. Them begin to move in the right direction.

[00:22:36] Ron Davis: I would say this because here's where I run into some issues at I.

[00:22:41] With certain people because man, sir, you're saying we should pray. We should see God. We should spend more time. And when you do this will happen. Are you teaching self-righteousness? Are you teaching human effort? No, we're not teaching human effort.

[00:22:52] That's not what we're saying. 'cause the Bible teaches to pray without ceasing. But we have to start in everything we do in the [00:23:00] body of Christ. We have to start with the finished work of Jesus Christ. I. Because of what Christ has done for us. We have to know that in spite of how confident we may feel, in spite of what our current situation may be, how many times we fail God, how many mistakes we make, any present sins in our life, we have to realize and we're not teaching, we're not advocating like reckless living, go do whatever you want.

[00:23:26] But no matter what state you are in is the believer. We have to start with the finished work of Jesus Christ. You have to know that Jesus Christ has given you access and it is a faith thing. We have to believe that in Christ, we now have access to the father. The wall that divided us has been torn down.

[00:23:47] The, in the, in the eny that existed between us has been done away with. The Bible says that in Christ, we now have peace with God. I would tell them to remind yourself daily if you have to, that you have peace with [00:24:00] God, that in Jesus Christ the way has been made for you to commune with the father.

[00:24:06] Second thing I would tell them is just the same way you will spend, you will grow your relationship with anyone else. If you're dating if you're dating, you really believe that a woman's gonna wanna stick around. If you never want to spend time with them how would you even get to know her?

[00:24:22] If you never spend time with her, are you? You're married, correct?

[00:24:25] Yeah. So 29

[00:24:26] Scott Maderer: years.

[00:24:27] Ron Davis: 29 years of marriage. Even in 29 years even you didn't marry her when you first met her. You got to know her, but even after 29 years, you know her better today than you did when you said, I do. So most

[00:24:42] Scott Maderer: days at least.

[00:24:45] Ron Davis: So that ongoing intimacy, that ongoing conversations, ongoing interaction with each other allows you to know each other in a better way. And so number one, we have to know that we have answers to God. And when we [00:25:00] know that we have answers to God, we have to spend time with the Lord. And if it was a third thing, I would say, if you don't know what to say.

[00:25:08] Pray his word back to him. If you could find it in the word, pray that you can. Pray. Pray. Th I pray the Lord's prayer to this day. As often as I, I still pray every single day thy kingdom come, th will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Father thy kingdom come, th will be done in my life and through my life, even as it is in heaven.

[00:25:27] Father, your kingdom come, your will be done in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Father, your kingdom come, you will be done in my church. Your kingdom come, you will be done in my body. Your kingdom come, you will be done in my marriage. That is something I do every day. So the, they could use that same model, but pray the word.

[00:25:43] So number one, know that you have access. Number two, intentionally make time for prayer. Make time with God. And number three, if you don't know what to say, and two, you can grow in the area of prayer. Just pray his word back to him.

[00:25:59] Scott Maderer: [00:26:00] One of my favorite breath prayers that, that I say, especially in those moments when I just need that short prayer that I can dwell on in the moment is, th thy will not mine, thy will not mine.

[00:26:10] Which is, 'cause I can say that very quickly to myself, and it is to remind me of, wait a minute, am I seeking myself here and my own edification and my own glory and my own, is this to make me look good or is this to make. Make God's will grow more. Is this to play out what God wants for this moment or this time which may have nothing to do with me.

[00:26:31] And it may not be my moment so to speak. Try to get myself out of the way, so to speak. Yeah. So I've got a few questions that I like to ask all of my guests, but before I ask those, is there anything else about your work or your book, thy Kingdom come that you'd like to share with the listener?

[00:26:50] Ron Davis: Yes. That kingdom come, it was birthed out of just many hours in, in time of prayer, of just seeking God. And one [00:27:00] of the things that this book would do for people is it's going to give them a clear understanding of the kingdom. That's where it starts, and then it's gonna give you a clear understanding of the why of prayer.

[00:27:10] And then it takes you on a journey for you can understand what happens when you continue in a place of prayer. So we talk about some kingdom shoes. We talk about the language of prayer. There's languages that's communicated in the place of prayer, but we also talk about the four stages of transformation.

[00:27:30] So the longer you stay and consistent in your prayer life, you will notice that your li you'll begin to transform, you'll begin to grow, you'll begin to develop, and now your prayers become more effective. So I just wanted to share that the book is gonna be a great tool to help balance. So we live in a day and hour where, so almost you have to choose between the two.

[00:27:51] You have the word based church and then you have a spirit filled church. It's there, there can't be a marriage of the two for some reason, but I believe in this last and [00:28:00] final hour, God is causing a marriage to take place between a word base. So we can be sound theologically, but we can also be full of the spirit.

[00:28:09] We could be sounding the word and we could also be full of prayer. So this book is a, is going to help people, not just, it won't just inspire you to pray, but it will give you strong, biblical foundation and a kingdom perspective on the subject of prayer. Absolutely. Yeah.

[00:28:29] Scott Maderer: So my brand has inspired stewardship.

[00:28:31] And earlier in this conversation you used the word stewardship, but yet I've discovered that's one of those words that can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. So when you think about the word stewardship, what does that word mean to you? And what does that impact of that had on your life?

[00:28:47] Ron Davis: Stewardship to me lemme see how I would like to define this. What it means is. Not just the manage the [00:29:00] managing what you have, but managing what you have in the spirit of excellence. Because it's one thing to have something and you manage it so you make sure it doesn't get damaged, but are you getting the best use of out of what you have?

[00:29:18] So stewardship is not just being. Good at holding something and not letting it go. Stewardship is you being able to hold something and put it to work that you get the best use of what it is that God has placed into your hands. So what makes you a good steward is not what you keep in your hands. What makes you a good store is what you do or what you have in your hands.

[00:29:43] So it's beyond just management, it's beyond just good management is your stewardship, turn into production. And they, like the parable of the five talents, right? Five talents, two talents, one talent. The five took this five, and he made, and then he's invested, got 10, [00:30:00] two, invested, got four.

[00:30:01] The one took his, he was a good steward. At holding on and reserving what he had, but he never put it to work. He never put his potential to work, and he called him an unjust, tho an unjust servant. Why not? Because he did not do well in holding onto what was gave what was given to him. He did not make use of what it is that God has placed in his hands.

[00:30:28] That will be my understanding of stewardship is putting to use to good use. So the most effective use, what God is placing your hands, and as far as how that impacted my life, writing is one of those things. I wrote a few books. I only published two. The my first book is called Christology, the Study of Christ from a Kingdom Perspective, and this is my second book that Kingdom come, the Purpose and Power of Prayer.

[00:30:54] And I have many, I have probably no exaggeration, I probably have about 50 or 60 books I. That. [00:31:00] And so for me to be a good store over God has given me wisdom, knowledge, and spiritual understanding and biblical understanding. So for me to be a good store is I have to now get to the people what God has given to me.

[00:31:12] I have to get out of me. So I have the right, I have to teach. I do, I do I teach at a Bible college. I do different things to get the best use out of what it is that God has placed in me.

[00:31:27] Scott Maderer: So this is my favorite question that I love to ask everybody. Imagine for a moment that I could invent this magic machine.

[00:31:34] And with this machine, I was able to take you from where you are today and transport you into the future, maybe 150, maybe 250 years. But through the power of this machine, you were able to look back and see your entire life. See all of the connections. See all of the ripples, see all of the impacts you've left behind.

[00:31:55] What impact do you hope you've left in the [00:32:00] world?

[00:32:01] Ron Davis: I, my prayer would be that I have raised a generation of believers who are sound in God's word and who are full of the spirit. And who live to see his kingdom come, his will be done on earth as it is in heaven. And who live to see Christ exalted, Christ revealed, and Christ glorifying in and through their lives and ministry.

[00:32:35] So my, my now what that would look like, multiple churches or the financial success, I'm more interested in seeing what happens to the people. Not so much. The, because you could have 10 churches, you could have a hundred plant church plants, but still not have that result.

[00:32:52] So if I can fast forward, that would be my prayer. That would be what I want to leave this in this world, and people in whom [00:33:00] Christ has revealed and exalted and glorified a holy nation who stands on the word and who are full of who are. We're all full of the spirit.

[00:33:11] Scott Maderer: So what's coming next? What's on the roadmap as you continue on your journey?

[00:33:16] Ron Davis: First we're going to really push the book this year that Kingdom Comedy, doing different interviews. We're gonna be doing a lot of advertising, pushing the book. We have a prayer revival coming up in, in Dallas area. It's called Our Kingdom Come prayer Revival. We have, we're gonna do a couple of those this year.

[00:33:33] And what we're really excited about is we're launching a church in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area. So we're very excited about that. This will be later this year. We're gonna start doing revivals and meetups and getting more involved in a community that we're planning on serving.

[00:33:49] About September of this year, we'll be planning our first church, me and my wife here in the DFW. So that's very exciting.

[00:33:59] Scott Maderer: [00:34:00] Absolutely. Yeah, that'll be a new phase for sure. Yeah. So you can find out more about Ron Davis and his book over at th kingdom come book.com. Of course, I'll have a link to that in the show notes as well.

[00:34:14] Ron, is there anything else you'd like to share with the listener?

[00:34:19] Ron Davis: I just wanna encourage, every listener. With these let me say this. I was listening to you this gentleman, and I wanted to, if this is a simple word I want to say, and it was an older guy and I'm opening this up because I wanna see if I could, you might know his name, but the gentleman, his name is

[00:34:42] RT Kindle.

[00:34:43] Are you familiar with him?

[00:34:45] Scott Maderer: I know the name. I'm not a hundred percent sure why I am familiar with the name, but I know the name.

[00:34:50] Ron Davis: He wrote several books. He's, he is been in ministry for I think, well over 50 years. And he was being interviewed and they asked a question and he said, what would be your advice to a [00:35:00] young pastor or a young preacher today?

[00:35:02] And he said, my advice would not be to go to seminary, not to say that you shouldn't go to seminary. He says, but that won't be my first advice. He said, my advice to every young minister would be this, know your Bible and spend time with your God. So every listener, I just wanna encourage you to know your Bible like never before, and to pray and seek God and spend time with your Father.

[00:35:29] The way has been made, Christ has opened the door, yes to experience life inside that

[00:35:35] Scott Maderer: door.

In today's episode, I ask Ron about:

  • The why of prayer rather than just the what...
  • How we can experience the power of prayer.
  • How his book the Thy Kingdom Come: The Purpose and Power of Prayer is birthed from his own experience of prayer.
  • and more.....

So one of the things I talk about in the book is intimacy and identity is the foundation of prayer, and if I'm only approaching God for what it is that I want and what it is that I need, then life is still about me and I've forgotten the first step. - Ron Davis
