00:01:58 The Birth of Jesus, The story of the birth of Jesus. And I hope you enjoy this and take a moment as you listen to this,
00:02:07 or is your with family and friends to reflect on the meaning behind this season. In those days, Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world and everyone went to their own town to register.
00:02:31 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea Toe Bethlehem, the town of David,
00:02:40 because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child while they were there.
00:02:52 The time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her first born Ah son.
00:02:59 She wrapped him in close and placed him in a manger because there was no guest room available for them.
00:03:06 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over the flocks. At night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them,
00:03:14 and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were terrified. But the angel said to them,
00:03:22 Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David,
00:03:31 a savior has been born to you. He is the Messiah, The Lord. This will be assigned to you.
00:03:40 You will find a baby wrapped in clothes and lying in a manger. Suddenly, a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel praising God and saying glory to God in the highest heaven and on earth,
00:03:54 peace to those on whom his favour rest. When the angels had left them and gone into heaven. The shepherds said to one another,
00:04:04 Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about. So they hurried off and they found Mary and Joseph and the baby who was lying in the manger when they had seen him.
00:04:17 They spread the word concerning what have been told them about this child and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherd said to them.
00:04:26 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen,
00:04:37 which were just as they had been told on the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child he was named Jesus and the name the Angel had given him before he was conceived.
00:04:50 I hope this short reading of the passages from Luke find you healthy and happy at this time of the year.
00:04:58 I pray that if you're traveling, you have safe travels and return home safely. I pray if you're with family and friends that you enjoy this time and take some time with each other,
