[00:03:46] Genesis Amaris Kemp: Thank you for having me, Scott.

[00:03:48] Scott Maderer: So last week I asked about leadership and of course my brand is inspired stewardship and stewardship is a word that I run a love of the lens of things through.

[00:03:59] So I like [00:04:00] to ask all of my guests this too, because I've discovered that's also a word that has different meanings to different folks. So for you, what does the word stewardship mean? And what is the impact of that been on your own?

[00:04:12] Genesis Amaris Kemp: So stewardship to me because I do come from a religious and spiritual background.

[00:04:17] It's you're stewarding your people and anyone who stewards their people is leading their people. And when I think about stewardship, it comes with ability to drive impact. And how are you driving impact your driving impact because you are living your life, but while you're living your life, you are pouring out tools and resources that you have acquired.

[00:04:49] And those tools and resources are making an impact to the people who are connected with you, whether they are employees, [00:05:00] whether they are people that you mentioned. People you coach or people in your family members that admire you and they sit under you. So they go learn from all of the gifts and talents that you bring to the table.

[00:05:16] But I also think about stewardship, I think about how am I using stewardship in my life. So people could see a representation of what I bring to the forefront. Am I living my life? Like I am talking about it. Do my actions align accordingly because you could say things all day long, but if your actions do not coincide with what you're saying, then it's just a mirror flapping of the mouth going in one air and out the next.

[00:05:53] And you're not really. Being all you were created to be, because you're only [00:06:00] saying stuff to be recognized, but you're not doing things in order for that recognized recognition to take root and have lasting effect.

[00:06:09] Scott Maderer: So if someone really wants to make a dent in the universe, whatever that means to them, what are some of the ideas or principles or tools that you would suggest that they need to learn to do.

[00:06:22] Genesis Amaris Kemp: One know who you are when you know who you are. You're not going to be swayed by what people want you to be.

[00:06:34] What people call you, how people try to keep you in a box, how people try to continue, because knowing who you are is tied to your morals, your values, your characteristics, another thing. Is be willing to learn more about yourself on a daily basis. And the reason why I [00:07:00] say that is because in life we go through transformations, those transformations take us to new Heights.

[00:07:09] New levels and new dimensions, because for example, those of us who got married young, we're not the same 18 year old that we are when we're 30. We're not the same 30 year old that we are when we hit 40. And so on. So many things in life has changed. We got married, we had kids. We raised our kids. Some people may have gotten divorced or whatever the case may be.

[00:07:34] And when you go through those life changes, you change because something inside of you was rocked something inside of you is shifted. Another thing to do. Always be willing and open to accept feedback. That feedback may not always apply to you, but they, the person that they cared enough to give you feedback.

[00:07:57] And I like to say feedback is a [00:08:00] gift you do with it. What you want, you could re gift it. You could use it, you get settled. You go upon it, whatever. But what I like to do is if

[00:08:11] Scott Maderer: something the trash, sorry, you just left that off the last, but I

[00:08:18] Genesis Amaris Kemp: like to do my stuff out. It gives me feedback. Scott gave me some incredible feedback when he was on my podcast.

[00:08:24] I take that feedback. I let it mirror. And I say, this feedback really resonated with me. Why did it resonate? And I asked myself the why, what, how, and I go through this whole process. And then I applied. And then if that, if the feedback he gave me did not apply, then I was still think Scott put it in my back pocket.

[00:08:51] So whenever a situation does arise, I could use it later on down the line. But what he gave was amazing feedback because [00:09:00] now we have more. Sentence down to it and spice,

[00:09:03] Scott Maderer: we worked on your one-liner. Yeah. And folks that listen to the show regularly, you've heard me reference one-liners before that you should be able to describe what you do with one sentence.

[00:09:14] And thank you for that. I appreciate the feedback on the fact that the feedback was useful as well. So I appreciate that. This is the easy question he says, jokingly. We're going to get into the tough stuff now. So Genesis, if I had this magic machine and I could grab you from the seat where you sit today and pull you into the future, a hundred to 150 years and magically, you were able to look back on your whole life and see all of the ripples, all of the impact, all of the things that have happened and gone out from that.

[00:09:50] What impact do you hope you've had on the way?

[00:09:53] Genesis Amaris Kemp: Ooh. Okay. I'm closing my eyes, but then visualizing. I want the [00:10:00] impact. No, I know the impact is Genesis a Morris camp, world renowned speaker, the firecracker who lipped flier to my bottom. The lady that caused me to rise up out of my seat and say, SISEP weather.

[00:10:17] Yes, I can. That. Yeah. Small petite woman who was a fireball. I had no idea she had that power in her voice, but after I heard her speak, it was something inside of me that late and at a four CLI it was the beginning of a birthing process. Genesis traveled the world. She shared her story of when she was in corporate America.

[00:10:49] She talked about the lows, but she also talked about the highs. She was a woman that gave that to charities. Her charities were [00:11:00] leukemia, lupus, and diabetes, because very important people in her life. We're either diagnosed with it or pass from it. So she wanted to ensure that research and adequate resources were being put back in the earth.

[00:11:19] So other people would not have to go through the pain of losing somebody and they have a fighting chance. She build homes in the Caribbean. Because she is Caribbean descent and south American descent. And she wanted those people to know, even though she's first-generation American, she still cares because it's a part of her.

[00:11:44] It's a part of her heritage Genesis loved to smile because she knew her smile was contagious and her smile can change and shift the atmosphere at note, the atmosphere. Genesis [00:12:00] was a woman that was on a mission. She was not going to sit down and let a muzzle beyond her mouth, but she knew who she was and whose she was.

[00:12:10] So she opened her mouth like loudly and proudly and fought for diversity equity, inclusion, plus equality. Because when we stand, we all rise United, we stand and divided. And that's just a glimpse of who Genesis is.

[00:12:29] Scott Maderer: There you go. That you gave me chills. I was like, you didn't see it cause your eyes were closed, but I was grinning the whole time.

[00:12:37] There you go. You're the first person that ever changed and started to do it in first person. That's awesome. And. A good example of that visualization. I love that. So what's coming next for you, as you continue on this journey and doing what you're doing and making the impact on the world, the.

[00:12:58] Genesis Amaris Kemp: Woo [00:13:00] selling more books, doing more book collaborations. I'll have a new book coming out soon. Can't really talk about it because there is a NDA non-disclosure agreement, definitely wanting to see chocolate drop in corporate America. From the pit to the palace, turn into a movie. Cause I, how freaking awesome would that be?

[00:13:22] Not to just have your book, but go and watch the movie. So I want to work with some play writers that I've had some conversations with or, and see who they know is this something that they want to do and et cetera. So just really pitching myself and putting myself out there and some, the young people, what is it that they say go no play big or go home or something like that.

[00:13:49] So I'm like, Hey, I came him to play and I came to Wayne. Y'all definitely. Continue on my podcast journey gems with Genesis a [00:14:00] Morris camp.
